Hello to everyone, and Welcome to the Rosenator's rose page which is all roses all the time!

Last modified November 24, 2003

Okay so it was 2 years since my last update (that's better than the 3 years last time . . .). I've been busy. Unfortunately I have left my rose garden behind. My parents moved and so my roses stayed. I have gone up to Michigan state and I am now volunteering at the Michigan State Rose garden. I hope to make a page dedicated to all of the roses within the MSU garden at some point but for now I'll just point you to their site. (which is OLD!!!) Contrary to what the site says there are a fair number of Old Garden Roses now-even once bloomers!. This is mostly due to the kind gifts of the Anderson family who have been nice enough to donate money for a Heritage rose garden-YAY. My influence has been to expand the number of varieties grown somewhat.

e-mail me.

Many people when first discovering old roses are surprised to hear that many of them only bloom in the spring. For many people this is such a drawback that they will refuse to grow such roses. However they have many advantages over the repeat blooming roses especially in cold climates. To learn more about this and why on ce bloomers usually require less care than their modern and continuous blooming counterparts click here
